Welcome to the website of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Energy Studies (PGES).
Since 1980, PGES has fulfilled its objective to advise Parliamentarians of the day on the energy issues of the day. We are the only Parliamentary Group to embrace all areas of the energy industry.
PGES is a forum for high-level discussion of key energy issues facing the country and the world. We hold monthly speaker meetings in Westminster, featuring a range of political speakers, industry leaders and experts from business and academia.
Our Members include Parliamentarians from the House of Commons and the House of Lords, with Associate Members from leading academic institutions and industry representatives ranging from SMEs to multi-national corporations operating right across the energy sector. You can find out more about our membership here.
Articles from our speakers, as well as additional contributions from industry experts and academics, are published in the Group’s tri-annual journal, Energy Focus. Click here for samples of our most recent editions.
The Group also hosts three major annual events – our Winter Warmer Reception, a Summer Reception, both of which take place on the House of Commons terrace and a House of Lords Dinner in the Autumn. In recent years these have featured keynote addresses from The Rt Hon Graham Stuart MP and Lord Callanan, as Ministers for Energy Security and Net Zero, The Rt Hon. Ed Davey MP and The Rt Hon. Amber Rudd MP, both as Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, and Stephen Lovegrove CB, as Permanent Secretary to the Department for Energy and Climate Change and Alex Chisholm as Permanent Secretary to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
